In recent years this company has really lost its way. Most things they will tell you in interviews are not true. It may have worked well when it was a smaller company but they are too big now to try to run as a small company and they are resisting adapting as they grow. They are trying to expand way too fast resulting in some employees having 50+ hour weeks and others struggling to get to 40. Additionally, they have such an aggressive multiplier which the project managers bonuses are based on meeting, so they do not want to spend the time to train you and will use the same people they usually do no matter how booked they are. You are not guaranteed 40 hours a week. It is on the employee to beg people for work which is both embarrassing and takes away from the time you have to do the actual work you do have. Since you waste so much time looking for new work you are forced to work more for less money, creating a terrible work life balance. They preach about their internal tools and trainings to get involved in new projects but none of the PM’s actually use them. Once you get a niche you will never be able to get into any other kind of work no matter how hard you try. There is also internal “cliques” and a lot of nepotism problems that make this process even harder. It is even harder for new employees which they keep hiring despite many current employees not having enough work because they’re cheap labor and all they care about is their bottom line despite what you see in marketing. They openly admit their hourly rate is lower than competitors but with overtime and bonuses you can make more. Since most employees struggle to even get to 40 hours and they have hired too many people that now share the bonus pool this is just not true. You just work more for less and miss out on your personal life because of it. But as long as they can still put pretty plants in the office and have fun parties that look good in marketing they don’t care how many employees are struggling.
