The patients I helped while I was there. Still miss them and worry for them.
Cons
The pay, the favoritism. I was downright abused and mistreated by my boss. Lied to. Manipulated. Staff I managed were allowed to curse me out and tell me off with no consequences. After YEARS of hard work and never been written up. I quit and gave a full month notice per policy. Was lied to and played around with. Told them I would stay on PRN. As in I will work one weekend a month of my choosing and help you out I have nothing lined up. Was told on my last official day not to come back. I quit because what was being done to some of my patients was downright abuse. Plain and simple. But because my boss did not like them it was fine. Anyone’s family member who complained was “crazy”. No they don’t want their family member ignored and neglected. Had a fill in boss who was on a power trip lasted exactly one month. I got my BSN while I was there. Did not tell a soul there because I did not want them bringing up the education coverage thing while I was there because I knew I never wanted to stay with a place that treated the staff and patients like that. Three years of my life wasted on a place I can never go back to, can’t work at any of there other locations and really can’t use as a reference because I am sure my boss will totally trash me to anyone else. You know the employee who didn’t call out, got all her work done. Helped others get there work done. Asked for and took on more responsibilities. Took phone calls day and night if anyone had a question. Was polite and kind while said staff was rude on the phone. Never written up ever. Did everything you asked and more. But because I wasn’t a blind follower and know right from wrong. This is what you get from this company if you take the moral high ground. Mistreated. Thrown out. And possibly have future job opportunities destroyed.
