Any reviews from before September 2022 no longer apply, as everything about this company has changed since then. The old CEO from Genome Medical left and the CEO from GeneMatters came in with a new executive leadership team. Clinical GCs were asked to increase patient volume 50-200% depending on the role, and absolutely no new support was put in place to help manage the new patient load. There have been constant promises of new "efficiencies" that will be implemented but still no sign of any actual help. Leadership also (understandably) chose to consolidate the EMR portals so that the whole company is using the same one, but inexplicably chose the portal that has almost none of the functionality that we actually need to get the job done, and until all of that functionality is built in the GCs are working out of multiple systems simultaneously with so much more duplicated work and room for error. The new portal requires far more manual work on the part of the GCAs and the GCs must not hope that the correct prep is being performed ahead of time. On top of all of this, benefits have been cut so we are now doing far more work for far less pay. The new compensation packages, when taking into account the higher employee cost for medical benefits, the decimation of the annual bonus, and the heavily implied cap on the supposed "unlimited" PTO means my total compensation package is nowhere near competitive. In order to "make time" for more patients, all of my non-clinical responsibilities have been revoked, so there are no more opportunities for professional growth. The GCs say they feel like factory robots just cranking out patient reports. The focus is solely on quantity and any concern for quality of care is out the window at this point. The GCs are trying to do the best we can by our patients but there is only so much that can be done before we inevitably crash and burn. Leadership has absolutely no respect for the fact that we are HUMANS doing this work. We have literally been told that we are easily replaceable. But beware of complaining about any of this to anyone. People who are perceived as “negative” are being put on performance improvement plans. The culture of fear is alive and well at this company, and some people even feel like they have to lie about how long it takes them to complete patient notes so that they are not reprimanded or let go. If there was ever a company set up like a fascist dictatorship, where employees are told to sit down, shut up, and deal with it while being gaslit about what a wonderful company it is and what great things we are accomplishing, this would be it. So if you would prefer to not question the status quo, keep a smile on your face, and be a happy little cog in this capitalist pursuit of the almighty dollar, then this is the perfect place for you. If you would rather keep your sanity and actually be able to provide quality care for patients, maybe consider looking elsewhere.
