Pros
Nothing! I know this seems like I am bitter, however, this is objectively the worst place I have ever worked in a long career of 35 years at a total of 5 companies including GP.
Cons
Terrible benefits, high deductible plans with the necessity of HSA contributions. Very cheap! Poor pay, no bonus unless you are Senior Manager and still not that great. Must pay for parking in Atlanta office and get there early or it will take you 10 minutes to make it to the top floor to find a space. Only 2 weeks vacation until 5 years of service and the 3 weeks after that. Very poor leadership, and training. Poor communication... no one on one meetings, no staff meetings, people who are prematurely placed in management roles without the skills to manage others. No kindness or compassion toward people. Unable to retain top talent. Work environment is very 1980’s on some floors while other floors are renovated and brand new. However, the new space is wide open with no walls between workspaces. It is very loud and disruptive! Management has convinced themselves that this renovated space is great while most people hate it. Cafeteria is way overpriced with poor quality and lacks healthy choices. The area around the office to go out to eat is full of homeless people that consistently ask for money. It generally feels unsafe. Commuting into and out of Atlanta if you live in the burbs is a nightmare! You can work flex hours to help with commute but it is still not fun and a bit dangerous. They do have a gym in the building that you can pay $30 or so a month for and it is not that nice and just very basic and fairly run down. What can I say, it’s a paycheck and that’s it. Most people feel that Koch had not improved GP since they purchased them 9 or 10 years ago and resent what they have done to the company taking every dollar out of it and taking away many perks including lower 401 K matching, no birthday celebrations, no team building events, no Christmas parties, etc... I guess you can say that most companies are doing similar things but there is no longer a sense of team. They do have a Starbucks in the building but it doesn’t allow you to use your Starbucks app to make purchases or give you points for purchases and doesn’t offer the typical breakfast or lunch offerings. There is also a CVS and dry cleaners in the building for convenience but I always felt that want to keep you close to the office to improve your efficiency. I know that sounds bad but something feels wrong at this place. All I can say is good luck!
