Pros

Good pay, and good coworkers in general. Your work/life balance is decent but it heavily depends on your team/role.

Cons

Poor almost non-existent culture. Training is minimal and there is a “sink or swim” environment. Lots of uncertainty with a constantly changing climate. Middle management is just as clueless as the rest of us. It feels like many people are just going through the motions for their paychecks which is understandable.

Pros

Hands-On Experience with Modern Infrastructure Friendly and Supportive Culture Great Resume Builder Work-Life Balance If you value a supportive team culture, a manageable workload, and building high-scale professional project experience, a Global Payments internship is a fantastic stepping stone, especially for launching a career in FinTech or platform engineering.

Cons

Uncertainty Around Full-Time Pipeline Varying Tech Stacks by Team: Because the company encompasses many different product lines and acquired systems, your experience can vary wildly depending on the specific team you land on. Some teams work on cutting-edge, next-gen cloud platforms, while others are tasked with maintaining or upgrading older legacy architectures.
