Pros

Work-life balance is good; benefits are good, fun workplace if you like the “in your face fun” approach; compensation is good—too good. You’ll more than likely leave there and not make the same pay (even considerably less) upon leaving, and trust me, even the diehards in this place eventually leave. Your coworkers will more than likely be great to work with. There are a lot of like minded, hard working and very intelligent people there, but get frustrated and leave.

Cons

1. Management needs more training: The management staff is okay at best, but they don’t know how to manage or deal with people. Most managers will tell the employees what they want to hear and not very honest with their employees. Literally one of the managers had been calling an employee by the wrong name for over 6 months, of course, she wasn’t one of the favorites, so why remember her name? 2. Nepotism/Favoritism: This runs rampant within the management staff and middle management employees. It is very clear who the favorites are in the company. They are the ones who get away with doing literally nothing and get the promotions and praise at the expense of the employees who are working their hardest. The rules from the employee handbook differ greatly for those who are favorited to those who aren’t. Departments have failed under the direction of certain people and instead of letting them go, they promote them higher, giving them more responsibility. A person even bragged (publically in a blog) that the reason why she was first hired and even promoted was because “how good she looked from behind.” As a side note, after further investigation, I know for fact the EEOC has been involved with Graebel in the past in the way it treated some of its minority employees (take that for what it’s worth). 3. Little to no integrity/honesty: This was witnessed especially during promotions/new positions. Positions wouldn’t be posted, but they told the staff they were. There was no rhyme or reason as to why people received promotions. Upon revealing to them that a position wasn’t posted after they fought to tell us it was, the story was immediately changed to “certain circumstances” where this would happen, rather than being honest in the first place. I also don’t think that management is being honest with the CEO. I believe they tell him what he wants to hear, but really Mr. Graebel should probably hear more from the people at the front line to get the true story. 4. Overinflated Titles: The titles and promotions people get within Graebel are only inflated to justify their jobs and inflated salaries. Even a “supervisor” is really a lead. A “director” is really a manager at best. And “VP” generally means you’re not doing much at all, maybe travelling on Graebel’s dime. It is unfortunately the only way you can get anything done as title means everything to those working at Graebel.
