Pros

Some of the people that work there are great people and truly are enjoyable to work with. Ten years ago this was a great place to work!

Cons

The biggest issues for an employee working at Graves Menu Maker are as follows. Follow through is a problem for this company, it’s a common practice to start something and it doesn’t get finished. The management team for Graves Menu Maker can not make a decision and that can be very frustrating. You are unable to work without constant supervision or someone asking what you’re doing, the level of micromanagement is a bit much. Keep in mind this is a family owned company and the family is in charge of each department. The biggest challenge you face is that all decisions are made based off of what they determine is the best solution. Right or wrong it’s the final say, that can make your day to day duties challenging. The culture of the company has changed, the new management team has their method of managing employees and it leaves something to be desired. The biggest con for this company is that if you are not liked by ownership and management, your time with the company is certainly limited. Upper management consist primarily of the family members who have limited or no experience in the industry. This creates problems because some of their decisions are based off of emotion and not reasoning.

Pros

I worked there for 20 years and experienced both the positive and negative aspects throughout my employment. However, the good outweighed the not so good and I made many good friends-- from the janitor all the way up to the to the owners and their family members. For the most part, everyone tried to give their best effort. However, nobody is perfect and we all made mistakes. When mistakes were made, there was always a combined team effort to make things right. At times, some managerial decisions raised some eyebrows, but those decisions were made with good intentions and not with any malice.

Cons

Communication was not always at it's best, but that is the case for many organizations. Lastly, there were not enough bathrooms for everyone to utilize.
