Pros

There’s free coffee, tea, and water. Also there’s beer in the not-stocked kitchen fridges on Thursday, I guess, and the elevators are nice.

Cons

Where do I begin? In terms of a tech company, It’s quite literally the worst, it feels like a rollercoaster or theme park that is on its last legs. The job itself was not really gone into in the interviews, leadership is remote and off-site, so that’s another thing. First day was just getting set up, and that was the only good day I had here. Then the shoe dropped that this is just cold-call telemarketing, a chill went through me, and your job security is not only dependent on talk time, dials or leads you follow up on, but also hitting sales and commission. The goals are unrealistic given what you are selling, one wants it, genially no one. The overall goal is to try and convince or straight up lie to merchants that Groupon and it’s profit margins have changed. They have not. They will give you scripts and deal outlines where the math does not math, it’s partly to convince you so you’ll sell the merchants on this. Favorites are played and the fact is not even hidden. Management CONSTANTLY contradicts each other, and if you ask questions that they don’t like or that they genuinely cannot answer, it’s always “We’ll get back to you,” they never do. It does not help that this business model is outdated, a place like this would have been ok but for a few things before the pandemic, and I know because I worked for one. If you thrive in a pressure-cooker environment, or if you just want to hit numbers, maybe this is the job for you, but if you have a shred of integrity, or want to work in a job or industry where you want to make a difference. STAY. AWAY. There’s something better for you out there. If you’ve accepted or still there, keep one eye on the job and the other on the exit, but start looking for greener pastures RIGHT AWAY, like I did. I’m on my way out, and can’t wait to start my new job!

Pros

Gaining experience targeting multiple industries

Cons

Management doesn’t care about you. Unrealistic goals. Everyone at 30-40% of quota. Complicated quota attainment system. Your job is to ask for 70% of margins for small businesses that have only 10-15% margin budgets
