Pros

There are no-pros. *DO NOT WORK HERE*

Cons

The upper-management has no idea what they are doing. They created an environment of backstabbing. They have meetings where they say they are 100% transparent and it's the complete opposite. A culture of "do what I say, not as I do". They have people in managerial roles that do not have a clue as to what they're doing. They come across as if they have an idea but then dish the work off to other people. Essentially they get paid to do nothing and when a mistake happens FORGET IT, you better run. Only upper management get away with mistakes anyone else "its the end of the world". HR- Don't even bother: They have no backbone and do whatever upper management says but do not see the day to day. If you go to them, they won't have a conversation with you manager to address the issue. They tell you to pretty much suck it up and deal with it. Its a disgusting environment. They have ZERO appreciation for their employees leading to a HUGE decline in business and employees leaving. There have been ZERO new people coming through the door to fill open roles. They can't convince anyone to work there. AMEN to the candidates being interviewed for acknowledging something is off. ZERO GUIDANCE ZERO CULTURE ZERO NEW BUSINESS All the old business is being pulled by the clients. They're a terrible agency and it shows in the turnover rate and employee moral. Look somewhere else, Anywhere else. *DO NOT WORK HERE*... I repeat. *DO NOT WORK HERE* - Unless you want to work at a place with zero business and the doors halfway shut.

Pros

Guidemark Health (GMH) is one of the nicest companies I have had the pleasure of working with in my career. GMH is filled with amazing, kindhearted, talented, and driven people. It also is generally a scrappy environment, so your creative work will have a lot of opportunity to shine while still maintaining an excellent quality of life. Yes, the work-life balance is a huge perk; it’s very balanced. GMH is also great about remote working, which is important in this industry these days. There’s so much more. The creative team is a talent powerhouse across the board. The account folks are reasonable and kind. The PMs remain flexible. Editorial is on-point. The CEO is a genius. I could go on and on. The opportunities are boundless. If you’re looking for a very special place to park your cart, you’ll be lucky to land at GMH.

Cons

There is always room for process improvements at small- to mid-sized shops, but many of you who are reading this may already know that. Don’t worry about it. It’s honestly not a big deal. Process organization does exist at GMH. Great work gets done and you are able to live a high-quality, balanced life at the same time. Enjoy it.

Pros

An exceptional platform for mediocrity. All you have to be is somewhat decent and you'll be head and shoulders above the majority.

Cons

Glassdoor is manipulated in many companies and Guidemark is no exception. I am confident that any 1 star or above review is done by HR or the Exec leadership team, and shared to try to win points. The responses you see from the consultant they fired from the failed merger is disingenuous. It is not the former CEO or former bad apples that define what's wrong with Guidemark today. It's the back-channeling executives who know there's disorganization and distrust and let their over-inflated sense of importance cloud good judgement and anger good talent. The problem has been and continues to be that a handful of talent is responsible for the bulk of the work and the rest are under-performing or unnecessary. The current 'stand-in' leader brought in a slew of people that have created rifts between teams, an enormous lack of delivery, and distrust among the senior execs who lie through their teeth about synergy and group efforts. It's a meal ticket and there's no passion. A recipe for disaster and I believe everyone knows that we're a falling stone that occasionally sees a parachute to slow our decent but eventually, we'll crash. I'm not unhappy with my role, only with our leadership who can't look past their own egos and be truthful with what they are and mostly, what they aren't. I also feel most badly for our clients who deserve better.

Normally we thank people for their feedback, whether positive or constructive, because we believe we can always improve from the perspective of fresh eyes. In this particular case, however, in addition to the subjective opinions the author of this post shares, he/she also lists multiple facts about GMH that are 100% untrue. We feel the need to point this out in order for any/all readers of these posts to understand the accuracy and veracity of the posting author. The person who authored this particular post has exposed him/herself to be the very opposite of an insider because of the many inaccuracies found throughout this post, and therefore have exposed their lack of any true familiarity with our agency. This is clearly not a person who knows GMH or has any first-hand knowledge of actual events or facts about the agency. With that said, let the reader beware.
