Pros

The company is mission focused and principle based. Leadership lives the principles and emulates the 'Catalyst Way' everyday. In my 25 year career in healthcare and HIT, Catalyst is the best organization I have worked for. I heartily recommend joining the team for anyone that loves to innovate, work hard, collaborate with a fantastic team, and make a positive difference in a company and bringing data driven change to healthcare! Smart, hardworking and humble. Solid benefits, compensation, in a dynamic, growing, stimulating environment. Simply the BEST! If you are the type of person who sees a problem you can help solve, are eager to jump in with both feet, organize a team, and take action; you will likely be successful. If you like to see problems, identify them and wait to be assigned to task a force or gab at the water cooler to about the latest dumb management decision; look somewhere else.

Cons

Agile environment, rapid change, make some people uneasy. If a start up makes you nervous, if you need lots of direction to succeed, you will not be happy here.

I could not agree more with your advice. We will only succeed as we push down responsibility and decision making, and trust not only the next level down, but another two levels below that, to make decisions that were made 100% by the leadership team in the early days. This is the trick (and usually the gating factor) to scale in any business, in any industry. I would love specific examples (from you, or any other team members) of situations, processes, functions, etc. that you see as something where decisions should be owned and made at a lower level than it is done today. We can only jump start this evolution if we have "things" to tackle. We on the LT are keen to this issue, and interested in improving here, but we can only see so much. Would love it if people brought things that they see along these lines to my attention. Would love to discuss, and be a conduit to the LT on this. Email me! Thanks so much for your thoughts!!

Pros

Great Talent & Culture: The people here are highly capable, collaborative, and committed to helping each other succeed. The partnership between onshore and offshore teams works well and is a real strength. There’s a culture of grit and stability that has helped the company navigate multiple major transitions over the years. Mission-Critical Engineering: The work involves complex data infrastructure that requires deep technical expertise. It can be demanding, but seeing these systems run successfully and support real-world operations is consistently rewarding.

Cons

Wage Compression and Retention Risk: Compensation for tenured and high-performing staff has not kept pace with the market for specialized data engineering and support leadership. In practice, tenure can feel undervalued or even penalized. This creates risk around losing institutional knowledge and operational continuity. Stagnant Career Progression: Contrary to stated expectations, strong performance ratings do not consistently translate into meaningful, market-aligned compensation growth. The process of how compensation is benchmarked lacks clarity in practice, obscuring how compensation decisions are made and what is required to advance.
