Pros
Benefits; holidays; easy application process and interview process; and depending on where in the DOH you land, you learn a lot from the experience.
Cons
Bureaucracy is encumbering; an old guard kind of thinking that keeps inexperienced management supporting each other; lack of a forward-thinking work culture that habitually ignores new ideas; lack of a young workforce; incredibly late adopters to policies that would help retain people (remote work for example); and expensive insurance depending on grade level.
