Pros

The people that made Hertz run are people worth getting to know. They were experienced hard-working team players that helped Hertz become the company it is today. Much work was given for each of us to do but, most of the time, we did not need to carry the work home. We all worked together so that our work/home balance was acceptable.

Cons

I feel it unfortunate that a large company such as Hertz decided to outsource their IT workforce to IBM. Although IBM sounds acceptable, most of the work is now being done outside of the US. This places jobs that US citizens once had into the hands of non-US citizens. It's unfortunate that they made that choice. They lost a lot of their knowledge base. I do hear that Hertz is asking employees to return so they can get the work done. The Hertz rental car business has not been doing so well but it was left in poor condition by the previous CEO. Hertz is making a comeback but it will be a while before the company is the company it needs to be.

Pros

Great place to work in tandem with other professionals in your trade, always had a feeling of "family" working alongside my peers. We come together when times are tough, this is very rewarding,

Cons

The current economic and geopolitical spectrum have been proving a challenge to this industry as a whole, thankfully we are a resilient outfit with the best people at the helm.

Pros

It's a job in a bad economy. Decent vacation time but no money to go anywhere.

Cons

Favoritism, nepotism. We used to get profit sharing now it goes wherever it goes. New commission structure is bad.Dollar thrifty and hertz are all one yet hertz does all dollars work while they make the money and close whenever they want. Customers are always aggressive and rude.sick time is unrealistic. If you have any condition you have to get fmla and the company they use always refuse it. ,yet somehow the people that aren't sick are always on fmla.
