Pros

I've been with Heuser & Heuser for a long time now and have been promoted a few times. I was a legal assistant for a while and it was a hard job. I struggled a lot at first because the work is never really "done." There are always more tasks and I never felt like I was finishing the work fully at the end of the day. Once I got used to the idea that there was always something to do, I thrived and have learned to have a work life balance. Since I started, I have had a few promotions and have always felt very well supported. Anytime I needed help or didn't understand something, there was a coworker around to answer my question. The partners are approachable as well. There is a lot of room for growth at this firm and I've seen a lot of internal promotions. Work life balance is good- even though there's a heavy workload, the partners encourage employees to spend time with their families and use their PTO and vacation time.

Cons

This is a tough job, and if you're not interested in an intense environment, you probably won't like it here or probably most personal injury firms. The training could use some work, but having been through a few positions, this is a place where you're expected to learn on the job and it is the best way to figure out what you're doing. While a well formatted training manual would be helpful, there's so much that requires critical thinking I'm not sure what else could be done.

Pros

There is a lot of chance for growth and they always like to promote from within the company when they can. Management is always there if you need someone to talk to or need help. Senior management interacts with everyone daily. We are all treated as equals, regardless of position, and that is super rare to find these days. I left this job, due to moving to a different state, and came back as soon as I could.

Cons

Sometimes turnover can be a thing, but usually once we get the right fit, the teams won't change much.

Pros

I have enjoyed my employment since day one. I like the fact that if you prove your worth, your worth is acknowledged and praised! I started as an intake specialist, and have moved up the ladder to leading the intake team. My role as being in charge of the people that are the first point of contact here and I am fortunate to get to help and take in the amazing clients that we get to help here at Heuser & Heuser. That's definitely one of the best things about what I do and the ability to do it with this firm is why. Everyone hear wants to help people that are unfortunately injured and in need of help. That's why I love what I do and who I do it for!

Cons

Probably one of the only things I can think of as being a bad thing is some of the injuries are really bad and those people that I have to try to help are going through something extreme and I sometimes am the first person they talk to and sometimes the first person that actually hears them! But being able to help someone who is really injured or worse and going through an extremely hard time. That can be a hard thing to do some days. If I am able to get them the help they deserve, then it is worth that struggle.
