Pros
Intergraph Services Company had great co-workers and wonderful intern pay. It was a true team and a positive experience as a GIS intern staff.
Cons
1. Job security. Each and every full-time worker I came into contact with was nervous about losing their job. This was brought up privately and in meetings. 2. Lower than average starting pay. Intern pay at ISC is great, especially compared to unpaid internships; but for full-time employees, they offer statistically low payment for the area. Be looking for work elsewhere while you intern here! 3. Poor communication. Those I worked with in some GIS divisions were unhappy with upper management communication. Some days we sat around waiting with no instruction, often seeking advisement with no reply. It was inefficient. 4. Perhaps most telling, they just have a bad reputation. No one at my university had anything good to say about them, and the only reason I took the job was because I thought maybe they deserved a chance. I just found out my classmates and teachers were right. Even my friends' parents and others in the work force who have never worked for them but have come in contact with them have termed Intergraph to be a "sweat shop," or a "shark tank."
