Pros

Great employees (excluding leadership) for the most part.

Cons

This company is a disaster. The culture is toxic and the poison is spreading fast. This is evidenced by the outrageous turnover to which Leadership simply turns a blind eye. There is no corporate strategy - no 5 year plan, no 2 year plan , not even a 6 month plan. Therefore there's no strategic alignment. Work is dumped on people in a reactive and haphazard way with unrealistic and, in most cases, unattainable deadlines. There is no consideration for employees because they are treated like chattel. The C-level execs are the primary cause of the issues, but their egos are too large to allow them to see it. The CEO has no business being in her role. The incestuous executive leaders seemingly got their jobs for political reasons. A simple Google search is not only laughable, but further indicates that this sinking ship is run by a group of misfits that other companies tossed aside. Core Behaviors are constantly shoved down the employees throats, while Leadership's behaviors fly in the face of exactly what they stand for. The executive leaders live in their own elitist bubble and are only interested in completing work that feeds their individual egos and self aggrandizement. When I've had the opportunity to hear the CEO, COO, or CFO speak publicly, I feel a deep sense of embarrassment, as I contemplate that this group is actually running this organization. It's only a matter of time before these leaders are exposed and the tower comes crumbling down.

Pros

They really care about their employees and the company does it's best to assist it's members. The company really believes in helping all employees succeed. The organization is open to hearing what employees feel about improving the organization.

Cons

I do not have any con's and the company has made great strides to improve in every category. If you are willing to work hard and put the effort into your career . you will find it is an amazing organization.

Pros

Coworkers are generally social and easy to get along with. The company is small and there is large opportunity to be noticed and make real impact. Tons of opportunity to learn from smart people and apply your own knowledge. Has a "start-up" kind of atmosphere where action is preferred to bureaucracy. Starting pay and PTO are good. Flexible work from home depending on your team. While my one-on-one experience with Cain (the CEO as of late 2018) has been limited, it feels that Gateway is in better hands than with his predecessor.

Cons

Some of the pros listed above are not consistent throughout the entire company. The experience largely depends on the team you are within. Many teams are absolutely great, but there are certainly a few that could be considered 'toxic.' There are cons that exist no matter where you are in the company. Gateway's customer base and product footprint has been nearly cut in half since the end of 2017. Despite profitability in 2018, there is a general sense that the ship is sinking and root causes of issues are not being dug up and addressed. In my experience, opportunities for promotion from late 2018 to now have been extremely rare, even for high performing individuals whose managers wanted to promote them.
