Pros

The mission of the organization is compelling, there is a lot of opportunity for networking

Cons

This is a VERY small team so everyone must wear many hats and there is no real system of organization. The executive director is also the founder of the org, and as such is EXTREMELY hard to work with. She does not take feedback well, even though it is the job of program directors and coordinators to provide feedback on programming. She would regularly make me feel incompetent even though I was fulfilling my responsibilities, which resulted in regular anxiety attacks for me. You will be overworked and underpaid and undervalued. This job is better for interns who can get in and out, rather than for someone who is looking to take root in a career

Pros

I worked at HollaBack as an independent contractor. It's a small intimate team environment. Very supportive - I had a 4 month old when I was hired, and was offered a lot of flexibility. I enjoyed working with the team and the ED. It's not often you get access to everyone in an organization and it was great to hear everyone’s perspectives.

Cons

The office has a small footprint so when HollaBack is in full swing with interns it can feel crowded. Sometimes it was overwhelming but often this feels exciting too.
