Pros

high quality products there are parties sometimes there's fancy oat milk in the fridge once or twice they gave free pizza for lunch

Cons

When I took this job I thought the reviews on here were just people being dramatic but let me tell you... this is the most mentally and psychologically abusive job I have ever had. As others have stated, those in Director/ Executive Director/ VP roles are pure EVIL and sad excuses for human beings. Never have I worked with such petty grown women constantly gossiping... you are supposed to be a leader, not putting others down in order to lift yourself up. These miserable women are constantly trying to make others feel bad about their work, outfits, personal life choices, etc. All things that should be left out of the work place but I'm assuming their home lives are so miserable that this is all they have. Moving on from the sad miserable 40 year old women who work here, let's talk about the benefits (lol) literally don't bother, I hope you're married because it sucks. You also don't get 401k matching because why should your company invest in you. Also, no company perks except for fake summer Fridays. Bonus structure is a joke, way under industry standard. NO room for growth. Let me clarify, if you know how to play the game you will get promoted but actual hard work or talent doesn't matter here.

Pros

The creative team is incredibly talented and passionate — every project feels like a masterclass in beauty storytelling. High creative standards that push you to elevate your craft and think strategically about design, editing, and brand voice. Opportunities to work on luxury-level campaigns that are both visually stunning and ethically aligned with the brand’s cruelty-free and vegan mission. Leadership values artistry and attention to detail, encouraging new ideas and rewarding initiative. A culture that celebrates creativity, collaboration, and innovation — every team member plays an important role in shaping the final product.

Cons

The pace can be intense, especially during major launches, so time management and communication are key. Because the creative team is small, you often wear multiple hats — which is great for growth but can be demanding at times. As with many luxury brands, expectations are high, so perfectionism can occasionally become a pressure point.

Pros

Five stars for the incredible team. I was lucky to work alongside some truly great, talented people. Good opportunities to work on some very fun projects. Additionally, being a part of a fast-paced, high momentum business was rewarding in terms of upward growth beyond Hourglass, both personally and professionally.

Cons

Three stars for the overall lack of trust and empowerment from leadership. If you are in a creative (or adjacent) field, be prepared for your work to be reviewed multiple times over through an incredibly rigorous and slow approval process. Do not expect to push the status quo here. This is not a business that appreciates new, out of the box ideas. You will work in office 3x days a week with little to no flexibility or understanding from management or HR. Zero growth opportunities within company with constantly moving goalposts. Absolutely no workplace culture.
