Pros

Very solid Excel experience - went from beginner to solid intermediate Excel user in first 6 months, you can use this job to learn pretty much everything short of VBA if you want to. Work with legacy clients who have some of the largest marketing budgets around, end up getting decent exposure to their strategic thinking at the analyst level Most managers are smart people who want you to succeed, though some are known to be indecisive which can definitely work against you in crunch time

Cons

Sean Rice - his breathing will make you cringe by the end of your first week. He is a caricature of wealth. Makes male analysts carry his eccentric purchases to and from his car - imported butter, petrified wood decorations, metal sculptures. One of the least socially aware people I've ever met. He will just start violently screaming through the office seemingly at no one. Makes absolutely disgusting and downright legally liable comments about women in the office - e.g. suggesting potential stripper names for some of the women in the office. A man who hasn't heard the word "no" in 25 years. Hours and hours are spent appeasing him, he assumes that everyone working at HRG is also his personal employee. Made one of the IT guys spend what must have been a week designing a menu for a dinner party he was throwing. Analysts have to do "kitchen duty" where you go out and buy cups, milk, etc for the office, also have to answer the phone when the office manager is away from her desk. Hardly any effort put into maintaining employee morale, most people don't want to be there and it's very obvious Hours can get pretty long in the week or two before client presentations.

Pros

Great camaraderie amongst employees, really cooperative group. Strong spirit of helping each other out to help get work done. Really get to understand and be experts in clients’ businesses. Client teams truly want to help clients make the most of the analyses and work hard to make that happen. Greater and greater responsibility is given as ability is shown. Work for very high profile clients with large marketing budgets. Affect large changes on an ongoing basis and grow clients’ businesses steadily. Exposure to a wide range of client’s organization, from junior to the most senior.

Cons

Workflow can be hard to predict ahead of time, particularly when delivering against client needed timing, which doesn’t move much despite delays in receiving needed information.

Pros

None, this company is dead

Cons

Thank god this company went defunct. Don’t think the actual founders knew what analytics is. They would make up numbers but using logic from the 1990s or the early 2000s.
