Demanding technology, engineering and operations provide a challenging and varied work place for engineers. Often reactive response required due to the nature of the process and unplanned shutdowns demanding instant response to get the plant back on line. Can be exciting.
Cons
Current management do not understand the process due to their lack of experience and this leads to poor decisions and plant performance. This increases the workload on those seeking to operate and maintain the plant.
