Pros

Nothing to note, at all

Cons

My mental health has never fully recovered from working here. That alone should say everything you need to know.

Pros

Found good colleague's who supports you.

Cons

Working here was one of the worst experiences of my career. There is absolutely no direction decisions change overnight, and leadership has no clue what they’re doing. Senior positions are handed out to people with no real qualifications or experience, just based on who they know. The management culture is toxic. Some managers are openly disrespectful, manipulative, and leave employees with lasting stress. Instead of supporting the team, they create chaos and tension. People who spoke up or tried to bring positive change eventually left. Employees are pushed to work unrealistic hours, take on endless tasks, and then, without warning, are made redundant because of poor planning and failed funding. There is no vision, no strategy, and no care for the people who actually do the work. This company is a sinking ship. If you value your career, your time, or your mental health, avoid it at all costs.

Pros

Having worked at IN4 for a number of years, my experience has given me opportunities to grow and develop programmes, I have established myself professionally in the region and significantly expanded my professional network as well as developing a variety of skills. The flexibility is a real strength which enables a far better work life balance than in previous roles/organisations. The culture has significantly improved in the last year or two, with the majority of teams having excellent relationships. Other pros include the benefits, with improved pension contributions, private healthcare and generous sickness/compassionate leave policies. Hard work is values, recognised and rewarded.

Cons

Typical of SME's, there can be changing and conflicting priorities. Whilst much of this cannot be helped, I think it would be helpful for staff to understand the rationale for decision-making, which may then alleviate uncertainty or confusion. I would advise those looking at roles in this organisation or similar to ensure they have a good understanding of what working in an SME means before joining; there will be the need to undertake responsibilities outside of core job descriptions but this is typical of smaller businesses where 'experts' in all roles aren't available (for example, there won't be administrators in every team), this means it is very much a team-work approach where no one is above undertaking certain tasks.
