Pros

- Smart people are attracted to AV tech space, you might be able to meet some good people.

Cons

TLDR: you would have hard time if tried to finding a worse place to work at. - Bad company culture by all means. There are pockets of good culture and good work being done, but for the most part there is little to no transparency. - People are treated as expendable resource evident from how management talks about full-time drivers working for the company. - Very bad benefits. - no-org structure , no HR. It is wild-west for career development, there is no clear path for any meaningful career growth. - Judge for yourself: atleast 30% of employees leave in less than an 1 year , about 60% in 2 years. At least management tries to make up stories on why people are leaving, it is almost funny on how much they try. - There is a bad cast system, Phds are treated very differently from others. If are an engineer you work for phd overlords to cleanup their magical algorithms. - There is virtually no emphasis on good engineering, the product and team works like a good school project. Good for demos, very poor on quality and for production. - More than one story of where people were yelled at and were called stupid by management for simple misunderstandings or buying a tool.

Pros

* Open and transparent leadership. * Management is friendly, approachable, and focused on the long-term goals. * The company is avoiding lavish expenses and overpriced real estate while in startup mode. * The staff is friendly and supportive. * Everyone is willing to lend a hand, and I've never heard anyone say, "That's not my job." * There's a lot of work, but I'm enjoying it and working with great people and new and innovative technology. * The company supports remote workers for many jobs.

Cons

The only con--and this is not the company's fault--is that it takes a long time for me to travel to the home office for my occasional visits from where I live on the left coast. Over 98% of my work can be done remotely, though.
