Pressurised industry for newspapers. Investment in people not prioritised and becomes obvious. Lack of focus and clear lack of belief that culture and communication from management important. Leads to culture of rumours and gossipping about possible changes. Cutbacks in resources but just expected that same workload will get done within team, don't care how or if feasible. Short termist in strategy and performance measurement. Not an environment where you can expect your work to speak for itself.
