Pros
The insurance here is UMR which is pretty good, even the dental and vision plan are pretty good! The HR here is also really good at getting back to you in a timely manner. The staff here is really kind and accommodating, sometimes the VP casually walks around and asks how everything is going. PTO isn't bad, you get 5.5 hours every payday(more depending on how long you've been here). I also appreciate the fact we get paid on Thursdays and not Fridays and we have the option to "borrow" out of our check before payday through UKG. We also have an internal hiring program where you can refer other people to a job position and have the chance to get compensated for up to 15,000 depending on the job position.
Cons
The management (depending on what department) is OK. They are kind people but sometimes the adjustments they make are inconvenient. Because this is such a hard position to keep filled, we are normally short staffed which results in text messages to come in on days off, and being cross trained to do 3 different job tasks. Like you basically are put wherever the "need" is, so although you just finished phlebotomy courses and expect to be drawing all the time, you may be put downstairs processing and vice versa. If you are a person who didn't want to be in patient's faces and up close you may be inconvenienced because you'll need to learn how to draw blood in both inpatient and outpatient.
