Favoritism Over Meritocracy - Engineer Infobip Employee Review

Pros

The "old school" Infobip engineers are great, but every day there are fewer of them.

Cons

You don't need to be a good engineer to get ahead here; you just need to be loyal to certain individuals. Hard work and initiative don't seem to matter—nobody really cares. Some employees are hired without even doing interviews and receive raises within a year without any real achievements. Meanwhile, others who have been working hard for years get nothing. This leads to frustration and decreased productivity within the team. It's tough to build a great product when many team members want to quit, and only those who are loyal to specific individuals, rather than skilled and experienced, are rewarded.

Pros

Fast moving, quick decisions, lots of freedom to innovate.

Cons

Ownership is a "friends & family" deal, and most decisions are made based on who knows who rather than business needs.
