Pros

Making a positive difference in the lives of those in need. Employment started out with a hybrid schedule (you were able to work from home 2 days per week), which was nice - especially since the pay was hard to rationalize. They also offered pretty decent PTO.

Cons

You are given a massive caseload to manage with no support from upper management. If you do take any PTO, you can expect to be extremely behind on your workload upon returning because management offers no backup while employees are out. You will be expected to be able to work as though you had 6 hands and at least 2 heads, and don't be fooled when a manager asks 'what they can do to help you'.. they are joking. If someone in management doesn't like you for whatever reason, don't expect to make it here very long. The whole agency is run on favoritism. Policies constantly change, depending on who the manager is. If you find yourself working in portability, you can expect to be publicly harassed on a daily basis, and don't expect to be able to bring this matter up to P&C (HR) or higher. You will most certainly be the one who ends up getting written up or terminated.
