Pros
InnovAge is a place where you can do very rewarding work. Supporting the elderly to "age in place" with dignity in their own homes, while receiving all of their care as well as transportation to and from appointments is an incredible opportunity. I have been drawn to elderly people since I was a kid because they have been some of the best friends I have had. If you want to make your impact really count toward something that matters and makes a positive difference, InnovAge is a great place to do that. In my experience, the large majority of staff at InnovAge sincerely care about each other as co-workers and about the people in their care. The mission at InnovAge is very worthwhile and the people here support it as a team. I am really glad to do my part and support this important work.
Cons
It is hard work and regardless of the position you are in. Providing care for people in deteriorating health is not an easy job. There are always challenges in any job. The only way through it is to have a team mindset and a knack for problem solving. Complaining or blaming others for problems won't get anything resolved or fix anything. If you enjoy the healthcare profession, are not afraid to pull together with your team when you face challenges, and are willing to problem solve with a positive attitude, this could be a culture fit for you.
