Cons

Lack of promotion prospects for administrative staff; Their experience and knowledge of the business are not valued. A large number of agency and temporary staff; Management would prefer to promote staff on agency contracts who have recently arrived than train staff who have worked there for years; Deskilling of many roles; and lack of job satisfaction; Too many managers, and many who are unable to make decisions. Many of the senior jobs, as with much of the Civil Service, are still based in London In a recent redundancy campaign in some teams 80% of administrative staff applied to leave.
