Pros

Most of the people at JVS are great, the client base is wonderful and most of the Job Coaches were good as well.

Cons

Overall leadership truly needs improvement. Equipment was not up to par with the business times. The workload was impossible and people were often afraid to ask questions or speak their minds. Benefits were good pay was at the lowest end of the bell curve.

Pros

Good benefits. That is about it. Pay is very low for the field.

Cons

Management and leadership is atrocious. Managers pass the buck and blame employees and don't look at any ways they can improve. Social work is supposed to be a field where everyone is in it together and I did not feel that way at JVS at all. I was never properly trained for my job then blamed when things didn't go well. I was working 50 -60 hours a week and getting paid for 40. The workload was impossible and management expected everything to go perfectly and when they didn't they blame employees and not themselves. Horrible leadership. It is supposed to be a humanitarian organization but felt more like working for a corporation.
