Pros

I can think of two 'pros'....You get an hour lunch and a bathroom break every few hours. Don't get up two often, you will start to get dirty looks from the owner. Now that I've left JVT I can be honest about my time spent there. During my time there we were asked / encouraged to write a positive review since the company has so many negative ones out there.... wonder why....

Cons

Companies avg spread is about $7 so if you think you can get rich of $5 deals, then welcome aboard. Sales guys have no direct contact with managers. If you like working through portals and doing the "point and click" method, then welcome aboard! (Side note: sales guys are very nice guys) If you are female and don't want to listen to locker room talk all day, steer clear. If your like me who thinks it's entertaining, welcome aboard! Owner acts like a nice guy but deep down everyone knows he isn't. He also seems to always be in a state of hunger and exhaustion from the last 7 months of unsuccessful dieting.

Pros

I started my career with JVT Advisors essentially right out of college with no experience whatsoever. The first couple of months I was terrible on the phone adjusting to an office culture for the first time, unsure if this was the right industry for me. My team lead, Ovrille Gonsalves, was patient and very resourceful when I had any sort of question. The guy is a human encyclopedia, perfect for training entry level recruiters without micromanaging. After that, I quickly found great success as a result of the client quality JVT has and the tools needed to produce. Consistent req flow with a lot of opportunity to fill jobs if you put the hard work in. Torin Dragsbaek is the best boss I’ve ever had and probably ever will have. He is fair and generous, someone you want to work for. The company is always doing monthly events and parties to keep morale high, along with president club trips for top performers that were always so much fun. The coworkers/employees are great people, which is the truly what made my time there enjoyable. Some are lifelong friends that I’ve made during my 5 years there. The recruiting industry isn’t for everyone, which is why most companies in the space have mixed reviews. For someone who is willing to put the effort in and truly wants to be successful, I’d recommend this place to them. The only reason I left was due to relocating, but if circumstances were different I would’ve stayed there much longer.

Cons

Not much. You need thick skin.
