One word: Walmart. The acquisition was official in October 2016 and everything went downhill from there. 2017 was a trying year for everybody. Jet tries their hardest to be what makes them great but Walmart doesn’t allow them to fully be Jet. The core values are Trust, Transparency and Fairness. Jet tries their hardest to live by those values but a lot of times, they just can’t. Employees blame Jet but it’s really Walmart driving that. Sad to watch but that’s what happens when a Fortune 1 company like Walmart acquires a company like Jet. Hopefully they realize what they’re doing to Jet because Jet truly is amazing, when Walmart isn’t involved.
The purple lobby wall was being touched up once and someone walked by and said, “I thought they were painting that wall blue and yellow for a second.”
Walmart’s favorite saying is “This is the way it’s been for 10 years.” They are so stuck in their ways that it makes working with them purely irritating. They never entertain any idea of changing something.
With every job, frustrations happen so you need to identify who you can trust and stick to that group exclusively for any type of venting. There’s people there that will turn around and tell someone in leadership what was said which makes you look bad. VERY political workplace.
Seems like the systems are always having some sort of trouble, especially the phone software called inContact. Jet is one of their biggest accounts but there is always some sort of issue happening. All the other systems are created by in-house engineers and they seem to be having troubles a lot too.
Going off of that, the manager turnover rate the last two years is up close to 50%. Managers. Not supervisors. Managers. That rate is including those who quit, were fired or just simply pushed out. There also have been supervisors that were offered a very large sum of money to leave the company.
Benefits used to be great but they have changed twice in the last two years because of Walmart. The benefits are terrible now. Don’t expect to have a copay with these benefits. Doesn’t exist.
I had a great experience and learned so much while working at Jet. My resume was strengthened and I learned how to be a professional. I wouldn’t take any of my experiences back. #workpurple
