Pros

J&J throws a huge party once a year...that's about it. I'm going to give this a 5 star rating so that it's not buried by the rest of HR's reviews.

Cons

I've been considering writing this post for a while and after reading the latest review from HR (there are many- beware), I couldn't wait any longer. They will paint you a beautiful picture of how J&J is such a great place to work and you will believe it for a while. Then one day the new car smell will fade and you'll realize that you're the same as every other miserable employee around you. First of all, the pay here is a joke. The compensation strategy is 80% of your take home pay is salary and the remaining 20% is a "bonus." Why call it a bonus? Should be called a subsidy. I've been trying to figure out why they don't try to keep good talent. Is it because they're the only game in town? Is it because it's cheaper to hire and train a new employee than to pay to keep good talent here? I'm sure it's a combination of both. Management here is terrible (with the exception of my manager). Once you are here for a little while and discover the cracks, don't try to fix them. If you attempt to disrupt the status quo, you will be blacklisted...so much for that "open door policy" HR always talks about. You want to move up? Unless you're one of the Johnson's sons or best friends with upper management, you're not going anywhere.

Pros

Great introduction to Johnson and Johnson. Was excited to start. Good parties. I was so happy to be part of Johnson team. That feeling only lasted a year.

Cons

Everything after you start. For some it’s great and they know the family and they are treated like really well but if you are an outsider they may not like you or at least you will feel that way. You could run circles around a friend of the Johnson family but they will never be told they are not doing badly. They hire family and friends and invest time in them. The company has changed over last 3 years for the worse. They are forcing good workers to leave.
