Pros

Work with lots of lovely children

Cons

No support on first day Lessons are boring and not fun for the kids Management threatened to not pay me due to having to do assessments Kids behaviour was very difficult often with no support I had to drop off some kit in Bradford if I didn’t they wouldn’t pay me so I have to drive there without compensation Unfriendly management team Very stressful I had to teach SEN with no training at all! I had iPads thrown at me!

Pros

Kit provided with everything you need for delivering the sessions.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations to do training on an entire half term’s lessons for all of the year groups you’ll be teaching, rather than just the essentials. Content not suitable for the age groups being taught. Keynotes riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. You’re basically being employed to babysit kids whilst the teachers get some timeout from the stress of kids who can’t behave themselves. Thrown in at the deep end with minimal training and not checked in on to see how training has gone. Content is far too advanced for the age groups it’s being delivered to. You also don’t get paid if your lesson gets cancelled, which affects your income. If you want to get into PPA cover teaching, you’re probably better off going with an agency. On leaving, all kit has to be returned at your expense by courier or by driving to head office.
