Pros

Office culture is characterized by open, fun, caring, and collaborative that gives you a tremendous opportunity to learn and grow. This was my first internship, but out of my worries before starting my internship, I found it easy to quickly adapt to the firm because my co-CEOs and colleagues were super friendly to help me “learn the ropes”. Co-CEOs do not put too much pressure and keep an eye on employees all the time, but give us freedom and space so that we can freely work on our assigned projects. Everyone do not feel hesitate to bring up their own difficulties and ask for team members’ help. This made me feel confident to speak up and psychologically safe to make mistakes without feeling any embarrassed, rejected, or punished by other team members.

Cons

Since it is a young and small company with the working team of 7-8 people, the load of work should sound a bit overwhelming. You are also expected to have a willingness to work in different aspects of the company, which might not really relate to your professional field.

Pros

Working at Just Wears was a great experience for me. It's a small team and Co-founders Alex and Yang really make you feel at home there right from the start. With any startup, there's a ton of work to do always, but no one ever seems stressed out or in a rush. Not once while I was there was I pressured to hurry up on my work. Everyone is focused on what they have to do and as long as you're taking that work seriously Alex and Yang will be two of the most understanding bosses you've ever had. I've asked to come in late, leave early, or take a day off for a long travel weekend and never once had a problem from them. If you're capable and respect how much work they put into the company, they'll respect you and your needs. The small nature of the company allows for lots of learning opportunities in every aspect of the business. I focused primarily on the logistics side of things, but by my interactions with the co-founders (Who are both very knowledgeable) and other employees, I learned a ton about running a business in general. Everyone there is happy to explain to you what they're doing and teach you if you need help. In short, If you work hard and want to be treated like a human being, this is a great company to work for.

Cons

Sometimes people can be stretched too thin
