Pros

The majority of the staff is filled with good people. There’s also interesting clients to work on and opportunities to attend cool events.

Cons

The problems start with owner/President/CEO who really only cares about lining his own pockets and has no regard for his employees or their well-being. He makes questionable remarks and comments that are outright rude and won’t hesitate to humiliate employees in front of the entire staff on a regular basis. The rest of management is absolutely underqualified and resorts to micromanagement due to lack of competence. They often resort to gaslighting, fear, and intimidation tactics to get their way. There is no organization, direction or structure to most operations that go down here. New hires are thrown in the deep end from the start with little to no direction and sometimes struggle to get familiarized. Your mood for the day will depend on both your manager’s mood and the boss’s mood which, in most cases, are sour. For a PR agency, no one at the management level can handle stress properly without taking it out on a junior level employee. Management didn’t hide their feeling towards the COVID-19 outbreak initially and have handled the situation poorly overall doing the bare minimum and making decisions only based on their comfort and safety over the staffs.

We're disappointed to hear about your experience working for Kahn Media. We pride ourselves on being a family run business with an entrepreneurial spirit that empowers employees to rise based on their own work ethic, drive and sense of self motivation. Our entire management team is not only diverse, every person started at the entry level and worked their way up, and about half the staff has been with us for more than five years. Like all agencies, especially small agencies, we wear many hats and have to learn as we climb. Those that can do that, flourish. Unfortunately... this type of environment does not always work with all types of employees. People who struggle to think on their feet, people who lack internal motivation and those that need large amounts of hand holding often do not work out long term. Those that are able to adapt and learn on their feet flourish and typically rise quickly into higher paid positions in management. We take great pride in offering not only competitive salaries but extremely generous benefit programs. We also have one of the most fruitful incentive based commission programs in the industry and those with the drive to pursue new business can earn significant increases to their already competitive pay. Employees who do not share this passion and drive and only wish to work the minimum hours required do not need to apply for a position with us. Regarding the pandemic, we have adhered to state and county guidelines since day one of the pandemic, and have had employees working from home since March, while those who do visit the office are held to all county guidelines. We are proud of maintaining a zero infection rate and will continue to maintain those standards. As always for the past 12 years, we encourage an open, honest dialogue with current and past employees.

Kahn Media Response

We appreciate all genuine feedback and have always believed that honest, constructive criticism, even when difficult, helps us grow as a company. That is precisely why we feel a responsibility to respond to this review with transparency and candor. The claims made here do not reflect the operational reality of Kahn Media. As an agency that has successfully served some of the most recognized brands in the automotive, luxury, and lifestyle industries for over a decade, we have built our reputation on structure, accountability, and consistent execution. We have defined roles, clear lines of communication, and project management processes that are actively used across every client engagement. The characterization of our workplace as disorganized and without functional process is not only inaccurate, it is the opposite of what has allowed us to retain long-term clients and a dedicated, talented team. What concerns us most about this review, however, is not the criticism itself, it is the context surrounding it. Over a compressed period of time, Kahn Media has been the target of a series of reviews that we believe are not the independent, authentic experiences of former employees, but rather a coordinated effort by one or more individuals to systematically damage our reputation. The reviews share recognizable patterns in structure, tone, and timing that are inconsistent with organic, unrelated feedback. This review is the latest in that campaign. We want to be clear: we are not dismissing this lightly or simply defending ourselves out of pride. We have formally reported this review and the related posts to Glassdoor's Trust & Safety team as violations of their Community Guidelines, which explicitly prohibit defamatory, fraudulent, and coordinated inauthentic content. To anyone reading this who is considering joining our team or working with us as a client, we ask that you look at the full picture. Speak with our current employees. Review our client relationships and track record. We are proud of the culture we have built and the people who show up every day to do exceptional work. We will not allow a disinformation campaign to define us, and we will not stop until it is fully addressed. Anyone with genuine concerns or feedback is always welcome to reach out to us directly.
