Pros

There's not much competition in our market which is very niche. Work life balance is good and can be great at times. The office is really nice with a great Jack London Square location.

Cons

If you're looking to join this company, be skeptical of what they tell you about the job and what it involves and who you will be working with/for. The actual job is probably not what you expect. Be very specific with your questions. They will omit details and provide ambiguous responses to your inquiries. Extremely nice during the interview process. No equity will be offered if you're joining the team and they will find any reason to pay you under market value while the executives have benefits they keep secret from the rest of the organization. I don't know if the company is filled with mediocre people, or management encourages them to be that way. People are not motivated and go through the motions without much thought. Those that seems to be working hard somehow end up being fired or quitting, which doesn't make sense while incompetent managers are rewarded. Performance reviews need improvement. They are very one-sided and should go both ways. If you want to come out of retirement for an easy job to past the time, this place will be perfect for you. So many inefficiencies that are ignored. Unless you're joining our company at the C-Level, don't expect to influence change or improvements. Be prepared to be a cog in a wheel. The office is right next to the Amtrak station and about every 10 to 15 minutes the train blows it's horn. It takes sometime getting used to it. Very conservative culture compared to other Bay Area software companies.

Pros

Good culture and people for the most part.

Cons

At least one layoff each year usually around beginning of Q4. This is to make them look better on paper for the most part. Processes are a disaster, issues are either band aided or left unresolved.
