Difficult to Participate in Effective Management - Administrative Assistant Karma Dog Training Employee Review

Pros

I met a lot of friendly young female trainers. The pay is higher than most companies although the owner did find various ways to prevent me from getting paid when I was asked to do extra work or work overtime.

Cons

It seemed like there was a lot of confusion and no guidance. When I recommended a way to streamline business to make productivity and workflow more efficient or beneficial to contracted trainers and clients, I was unable to convince the owner to adapt to new and more recommended methods.

Pros

There are none that I can think of.

Cons

I would strongly caution anyone considering working for this company as a contractor. I have worked with them since 2023 and have repeatedly experienced significant payment delays. Clients pay the company in advance, but trainers are often left waiting months to receive compensation for completed sessions. In late 2023, I was not paid for a completed session for approximately five months. After that experience, I decided I would no longer work with them. However, the owner, Jeff, assured me that the payroll issues had been resolved, so I agreed to give them another chance. They later asked me to take on a client located an hour from my home because they did not have another trainer available. I completed two sessions from the client’s prepaid five-session package in January. As of this review, I still have not been paid for those sessions. The situation has also negatively affected the client, who prepaid for a package but has been unable to find another trainer to complete the remaining sessions. While the compensation rate is already lower than many contractor positions, the bigger issue is the ongoing failure to pay trainers in a timely manner. In my experience, payment problems have been a recurring issue, and I cannot recommend working for this company.
