Pros

Great environment for learning. Promotes outside learning and devotes time during work hours to help achieve those goals. You get the like-a-family benefit of a small business while still maintaining professionalism expected in a work environment. They seem to really care about you and your family. They host events throughout the year outside of work that are a lot of fun. The work load can be challenging, but it keeps you engaged and there is always a project to work on. When you are first hired on they are very supportive to get you up to speed and understanding the projects you will be engaging with. I'm a new developer and I've felt very comfortable here with the level of growth they have helped me achieve and maintain. Teamwork is easy with how friendly everyone is. Overall I think this company has a great future and shows that it wants to do what's best for their employees and clients.

Cons

There have been many a developer before the current ones and there wasn't always a standard to follow. So this means some projects you work on are nearly impossible to suss out due to past turn over and lack of communication/documentation about those projects, they are working on getting documentation to be more of a standard, but it is a wip. Weird about working from home. As I understand it they've had a bad experience with past employees who worked from home, but previous to covid the weather had to be nearly disastrous for them not to make it weird about wfh. We are a tech company and have the ability to easily work from home, I don't understand the bad vibes when your employees just want to stay safe. I'm not sure what this will look like after Covid, since we've been mandated to cut gatherings down and work from home. I have been open about this with my manager and I know it's a past scar not easily forgotten but I do feel it is a con.

Thank you for your comments. We continue to work to be better on all areas, even work from home. Work from home comes down to the persons role and most importantly who is capable of working away from the office. It is a continuous learning curve for all.

Pros

Karpel Solutions was a phenomenal place to start my IT career. The Help Desk Team is well rounded to say the least. You are surrounded by people that are extremely friendly and helpful to you as a teammate and the customer.

Cons

If you are not open to traveling then maybe Karpel Solutions isn't the job for you.

Pros

- Hands down some of the best people to work with, the general culture is based around growth and trauma bonding. The single reason I would recommend this job is for the people I work with. - Excellent benefits, health insurance could be slightly better, but they do the best they can with it. - Yearly bonus is a very nice Christmas present. - If you enjoy travelling, you get the opportunity to experience lots of different places. - Free breakfast every Friday is also nice. The overall culture that some of the newer executives are trying to foster really puts a positive spin on everything. - This is really a great place to cut your teeth in the IT Help desk world. Lots of opportunity to work with a lot of different components.

Cons

- The current CEO is single-handedly is holding the company back because he doesn't want to admit that his way isn't always the right or correct way to do something. "Welp, that's the way it's always worked, so that's how we're going to keep it." is a statement that is uttered far too often when addressing bugs and QoS enhancements to continue to stay relevant in today's software culture. - Also not a lot of room for growth. If you get pigeon-holed in to the PbK/DbK side, you have it made but that's where you stay. On the insight side, the last thing you want to be is an engineer. They are the least cared for individuals in the company.
