Pros
Great environment for learning. Promotes outside learning and devotes time during work hours to help achieve those goals. You get the like-a-family benefit of a small business while still maintaining professionalism expected in a work environment. They seem to really care about you and your family. They host events throughout the year outside of work that are a lot of fun. The work load can be challenging, but it keeps you engaged and there is always a project to work on. When you are first hired on they are very supportive to get you up to speed and understanding the projects you will be engaging with. I'm a new developer and I've felt very comfortable here with the level of growth they have helped me achieve and maintain. Teamwork is easy with how friendly everyone is. Overall I think this company has a great future and shows that it wants to do what's best for their employees and clients.
Cons
There have been many a developer before the current ones and there wasn't always a standard to follow. So this means some projects you work on are nearly impossible to suss out due to past turn over and lack of communication/documentation about those projects, they are working on getting documentation to be more of a standard, but it is a wip. Weird about working from home. As I understand it they've had a bad experience with past employees who worked from home, but previous to covid the weather had to be nearly disastrous for them not to make it weird about wfh. We are a tech company and have the ability to easily work from home, I don't understand the bad vibes when your employees just want to stay safe. I'm not sure what this will look like after Covid, since we've been mandated to cut gatherings down and work from home. I have been open about this with my manager and I know it's a past scar not easily forgotten but I do feel it is a con.
