Pros

Above average benefits. Quarterly bonuses (most of the time).

Cons

Below average wages/salary. Typical management - over promise, underdeliver, then blame interface/conversion/development team when they cannot meet the unrealistic deadline even though they give up their nights and weekends. Expect too much out of an under paid, over worked employee. Management takes, takes, takes, then terminate you when you can't give anymore and/or try standing up for yourself. Unfortunately, the conversion team has the highest turnover rate followed by the help desk then the project managers/trainer. You are pretty safe on the interface team. I think they have only ever terminated one employee from there. The others have wisely left on their own accord. To me, the biggest con is that a female employee will make considerably less than their male counterpart doing the same job. Sadly, that is just the way it is here.

Pros

Great environment for learning. Promotes outside learning and devotes time during work hours to help achieve those goals. You get the like-a-family benefit of a small business while still maintaining professionalism expected in a work environment. They seem to really care about you and your family. They host events throughout the year outside of work that are a lot of fun. The work load can be challenging, but it keeps you engaged and there is always a project to work on. When you are first hired on they are very supportive to get you up to speed and understanding the projects you will be engaging with. I'm a new developer and I've felt very comfortable here with the level of growth they have helped me achieve and maintain. Teamwork is easy with how friendly everyone is. Overall I think this company has a great future and shows that it wants to do what's best for their employees and clients.

Cons

There have been many a developer before the current ones and there wasn't always a standard to follow. So this means some projects you work on are nearly impossible to suss out due to past turn over and lack of communication/documentation about those projects, they are working on getting documentation to be more of a standard, but it is a wip. Weird about working from home. As I understand it they've had a bad experience with past employees who worked from home, but previous to covid the weather had to be nearly disastrous for them not to make it weird about wfh. We are a tech company and have the ability to easily work from home, I don't understand the bad vibes when your employees just want to stay safe. I'm not sure what this will look like after Covid, since we've been mandated to cut gatherings down and work from home. I have been open about this with my manager and I know it's a past scar not easily forgotten but I do feel it is a con.

Thank you for your comments. We continue to work to be better on all areas, even work from home. Work from home comes down to the persons role and most importantly who is capable of working away from the office. It is a continuous learning curve for all.

Pros

Good product concept and the company will grow

Cons

Bloated software. Bloated database. Many columns and tables not used but refuse to remove the bloat. Not much regard to personal life outside of work. For the conversion people, forget about holidays and evenings. Fast, good and cheap are the ways of the programmer and in this company fast and cheap are the norm. Lack of career movement.

Appreciate the comments. Communication has greatly improved throughout the company over the past 16 months. With our conversion group each project has a schedule created that can range anywhere from 90-180 days with milestone dates set well in advance. Knowing the schedule each person knows what has to be completed and when it needs to be completed. Help is always available as well. Only thing we ask of everyone is that they continue to learn and get better with the technologies they use (MS SQL and C#).
