Pros

Somewhat flexible work-life balance. Since APS Healthcare was bought by KePRO there have been no pros; quick decline into chaos.

Cons

Terrible morale of staff due to local management's lack of communication and unethical behaviors and lack of taking responsibility for actions. Unprofessional relationship between executive director and their subordinate which created an environment of favoritism and special treatment being given. Complete lack of professional behavior on the part of most of the underqualified management which is then mirrored by the staff. Lots of clichés and special treatment given to favorites even if they are underperformers. No one held to a common standard of performance. High turnover due to lack of training, contract volatility and poor management up to and including the VP level. Processes and demands change from one day to the next with no communication from management, because most of them are not present in the office in any way, only compounds the problem of being able to do the job correctly. Corporate leadership is completely absent in regards to support for local demands as outlined in contract. Overwhelming amounts of work to do and people being placed on unannounced furlough, being laid-off unexpectedly or quitting makes work loads even worse. Pay is sub-par and raises are too insignificant to even matter. Raises based on corporate designation for 5 star performance rating system (each rating gets a set amount), with little incentive to perform well since the difference between a 2 star raise and a 4 star raise was microscopic. No bonuses (except maybe a sign on bonus to trick people into working there) and just this year a removal of the 2 paid floating holidays to much of the workforce. Health insurance is a joke, with ridiculous deductibles even for the wellness plan. 401k match was ok, but no guarantee of longevity. No payout for PTO at year end; its use or lose.

Pros

Close to home, option to work from home, the actual work is a pleasure

Cons

Health Benefits are expensive and get worse every year; pay is "fair"but lags behind others in industry; morale is bad everywhere- no matter what office, what department, related to lack of work/balance, micromanagement, managers and supv's who have little training or tact to be leaders. The company is so cheap they sqeak! I'm 3 1/2 years at the company my hourly wage didn't not increase to total one dollar! They furnish nothing to show appreciation for the job they require employees to do, to include free coffee or tea, paper goods, soap. Hostile environment, Corporate HR does not stand behind the employees which is beyond demoralizing! During Hurricane Irma the building was closed 6 days due to flooding and we were required to use PTO time and take our laptops home; if we didn't have enough PTO time we could "borrow" from future benefits; the company doesn't encourage camaraderie or empathy between employees.
