Pros

This is a great place to work and I thoroughly enjoy working at Kidzania London. This job isn't particularly easy, but what I love is that you can make it your own with the children and it's great knowing you're inspiring the next generation of young children. I highly recommend joining this company. - It's not your ordinary type of job. You're never in the same establishment everyday. Not everyone gets to be a firefighter, pilot, baker, vet, detective all in one week. And on long days, you swap half way to another establishment so you do not get bored. This plan was recently implemented by Jess and Emily (District 2 and 4 Coordinators) who have taken our feedback on board! - HR organise events and keep us up to date with staff benefits and brand/customer service training. They listen to our concerns. For example, they recently added a new microwave and kettle to the staff room. I also suggested that they changed the duration of one of the activities in the city to avoid complaints as 15 mins is too short and they changed it to 20 mins. Life savers! - There is opportunity for a career progression - The majority of people who work here are great and they, along with all of the customers, come from all walks of life. It is diverse. - I had an operation and HR put some adjustments in place which positively impacted my return to work. - Your hard work is recognised. Employees are recognised by other employees by nominating them for Zuperztar of the month through our value badge rewards scheme. Employees are also recognised by customers through online reviews and red envelopes during half term (and now everyday from the 1st of July thanks to HR). In debrief, employees are also recognised for their hardwork. Coordinators choose a Zup of the day and give their reasons. Everyone is generally happy for each other. - The children. They can make your day in such an unexpected way. I would finish off a session and a child would come up to me and offer me a kidzo as a tip or they would tell me personally that they found my session the best. - If you show you care for the business, you'll really enjoy working here. - Staff benefits. HR have invested in a lot to provide us with discounts using Staff treats. They also send us emails with deals. - A lot of chances to work on your acting skills and confidence. I love role-playing and the best way to deal with customers is to role-play.

Cons

• I get foot pain from standing up for too long but who wants a boring office job anyway (no offence to anyone in Kidzania :) ) - Lack of day light (constant darkness in the city) • Management don’t like criticism. There are double standards. • Lack of communication between management and Zups and customers. For example, one day in morning briefing, the coordinator told us last minute that we had a training after our shift until 6. As expected, some Zupervisors could not attend as they had plans and I, assuming I finished at 4, came with no food to work and had to work until 6 without any food. Management need to be prepared when informing us of any trainings so that we can prepare food or cancel plans. • Management sometimes bend the rules for customers when they are in the wrong. One rule is that under 4s cannot take part in a lot of jobs in the city, but if a customer with an under 4 has been waiting for a long time and has demanded to speak to a manager, they'll sometimes be allowed into the activity despite the Zup denying entry because of their age. There are policies and rules in place FOR A REASON. It's defeating the object. (There are certain managers and coordinators who go by the books which is what we, as Zups, appreciate) • The Zupervisors in District 2 get paid £8.50 (25p more than the other District) because they have "experience" in performing arts. I was recently allocated to, along with other Zups to a District 2 establishment and proved I could run the activity successfully for the whole day without complaints. Why am I not being paid the same amount? Pay should be higher but it has improved from what it used to be (£7 an hour) • Unpaid breaks

Pros

Flexible schedule The people you work with

Cons

Pay is always late! They don’t respect or care about their staff Management are not respected and their opinions are just a waste of breathe Corporate controls 100% of what the company does and they do it the Russian way. They look at guests as a $ sign and not a person. They are money hungry- will raise the price but not the experience No trust! A lot of legal issues
