This company used to be great place to work. Not anymore. In the past 12 months, so many ugly things have surfaced. There are many things that could be mentioned, I will just pick a few of them.
Don’t trust the PR articles you read in media. This company is not growing, it is actually striving to survive. All budgets are being cut drastically, teams are being reduced or dissolved, yet we are still in red numbers. To be 100% clear - it is ok to burn cash if you build a new technology. But it is not ok to fake results snd lie about the growth to attract new emoloyees.
There is no ability to innovate and deliver new stuff anymore. Even the simplest new features take months to deliver. The main reason of this situation is the poor technical leadership, lack of knowledge and vision of those on the highest positions in the Engineering department.
Don’t expect the benefits advertised on the jobs page. As the company is struggling financially, there are no bonuses, no education budgets and no refreshment budgets whatsoever. This would be ok, if the HR department did’t advertise the things repeatedly during the recruitment process to attract new devs.
The last thing I will mention is the terrrible decline of the company culture. Kiwi used to be a great company to work for. Today, it is all about slanders, lies and threats. The management have pushed some of the brightest, most passionate people out of the company, just because these didn’t agree blindly with everything the mgmt said. Others are being treated terribly, for no obvious reason. It almost seems like the company is trying to push as many people as possible out of the engineering department.
