Pros

Nothing anymore. Maybe still some nice people.

Cons

Unclear vision and strategy, launching useless projects without asking experts and calling it later “failing fast”. If you’re not friends with the right people and won’t say “yes” to everything what they want, don’t expect too much. The company is just acting chaotic and then panicking about financial results, without caring for people, culture and work-life balance. Kiwi is promoting wrong people to higher positions, accepting their behaviour like bullying people, making jokes of others, being rude, unprofessional and two-faced. No one cares about ESAT, feedback or promoting good leaders. You can be fired anytime, your position might be cancelled, your development plans zeroed and - who needs learning and development? Kiwi doesn’t. Who needs good, experienced leaders? Not Kiwi. Today you’re here, tomorrow not anymore. Decisions are made from one day to another, no one knows, what will happen next - no one considers if you have a family and are willing to travel for weeks - they can tell you on Monday, that you're travelling on Friday. Everyone is afraid to speak in meetings and some people will do everything to please the most powerful people. If you think Kiwi will allow you to learn, do mistakes and improve, you’re wrong. The company doesn’t respect its own people. CEO is getting drunk on the company parties or coming with heavy hangover to the office. This is probably leading by example. People are being fired because Kiwi needs to improve the financial results, or someone very important didn’t like them - don't expect any transparency in communication. No money for learning, no money for vacation (just 4 weeks), no development support, no support even from the higher management, as they’re just immune towards authentic leadership. Most of the C-Level and Directors are just arrogant people in darkness. A bunch of ignorants, that cares only about their salaries and prestige. If you consider joining Kiwi, don’t do it - stay away from this toxic environment.

Hello, thanks for the feedback, although to be honest it is very hard to react to the feedback full of “everyone” and “nobody” without further details or context. Yes, we change company goals and sometimes we close some of the initiatives we worked on. It relates exactly to the "fail fast" culture you mention, we try to move as fast as possible, we try various things...and yes, sometimes we end up in a dead end, break something or create a bit of a chaos. I don’t think there is any other way if we want to build something really awesome in the end - it won't happen without constant change and innovation. I understand working in such environment is demanding and it can be frustrating at times…but it can be also very rewarding and motivating, it very much depends on the environment you prefer. I'm far from saying we are mature organization with mature leaders, we have a history of just few years and we constantly learn and develop, taking into consideration employee and peer feedback. When it comes to hiring and promoting people, we are looking at their performance, fit for the role and the overall value they bring to the team and the company, not who they are friends with or how much they say “yes”. I won’t be commenting on the rest of your statements as these are rather emotional - you can always contact me and we can discuss your current experience, specific examples of some issues you stated here and what can be done to fix those if verified. However, if this is what you think of kiwi.com, I would recommend you to look around and find the company where you can find a meaning and be happy. Katka

Pros

The CPO, Petra, is a great person. And of course there are more awesome people in the team, mostly those who have been here since the very begining - smart, skilled people with nice personalities. I will always have a huge respect for these people. Because of them, I’m very sorry to write the following lines.

Cons

This company used to be great place to work. Not anymore. In the past 12 months, so many ugly things have surfaced. There are many things that could be mentioned, I will just pick a few of them. Don’t trust the PR articles you read in media. This company is not growing, it is actually striving to survive. All budgets are being cut drastically, teams are being reduced or dissolved, yet we are still in red numbers. To be 100% clear - it is ok to burn cash if you build a new technology. But it is not ok to fake results snd lie about the growth to attract new emoloyees. There is no ability to innovate and deliver new stuff anymore. Even the simplest new features take months to deliver. The main reason of this situation is the poor technical leadership, lack of knowledge and vision of those on the highest positions in the Engineering department. Don’t expect the benefits advertised on the jobs page. As the company is struggling financially, there are no bonuses, no education budgets and no refreshment budgets whatsoever. This would be ok, if the HR department did’t advertise the things repeatedly during the recruitment process to attract new devs. The last thing I will mention is the terrrible decline of the company culture. Kiwi used to be a great company to work for. Today, it is all about slanders, lies and threats. The management have pushed some of the brightest, most passionate people out of the company, just because these didn’t agree blindly with everything the mgmt said. Others are being treated terribly, for no obvious reason. It almost seems like the company is trying to push as many people as possible out of the engineering department.

Thank you, your feedback raised some issues which we are going to investigate. In your view some of the recent changes were not communicated or understood properly and might have lead to misunderstandings. We inspire and embrace people in our environment to step up and open a constructive discussion when they see room for improvement. If you would like to have this discussion, just let me know.We wish you all the best on your next professional career steps.

Pros

Fresh fruits and coffee are free A lot in people in Kiwi really rock, and it´s a shame to see how they just spend the best of them in a company whose not given anything in reward to their time a hard work. Multilingual environment, you cannot simple understand how smart people from all parts of the world with amazing English skills and even 4 languages can work in a place like this. if you love to work as a salve this is the place for you! even dogs are tied to the chairs and tables now, not dog friendly at all.

Cons

20 minutes breaks and 30 minutes of lunch for 8 hours of stressing job duties. they motivate you telling you the company is growing and things will get better, rubbish! They just care for the top people, and most of us are nothing for them Excuses are everywhere to justify their benefit, we are never listened, no opportunities to speak our ideas or give recommendations.
