Pros

Good salary, interesting work, I felt upper management cared about me

Cons

Each city ran its office differently, little oversight so learning was more of a “as you go” approach. Would be difficult for those who prefer some “hand holding” when learning a new field

Pros

Good attorneys and some good people working there

Cons

Very poor management and CEO has absolutely no knowledge of the legal profession and delegates her management responsibilities to two of the paralegals who are also required to bill 7 hours per day. She is the firm president's sister and a former life coach. She knows absolutely nothing about managing people or supporting people in the paralegal and legal assistant roles. Run, don't walk . They will expect 12+ hour days if they are in trial.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. While we recognize that not every experience at KNM is the right fit for every individual, we’d like to offer some clarification regarding your comments. At KNM, legal and operational functions are intentionally separate to ensure clear focus and expertise in each area. The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for firm operations, not legal case strategy or the day-to-day management of attorneys or paralegals. Additionally, the COO does not delegate management responsibilities to paralegals. The individuals referenced are experienced Practice Managers—seasoned trial paralegals with decades of experience leading numerous trials. Trial work can be demanding, and expectations around extended hours during trial periods are communicated clearly in advance. Our firm tries over a dozen cases each year, so our paralegals are expected to be trial-ready. Thus, we strive to ensure our teams are well-informed and supported. We understand that employment transitions—particularly those involving terminations—can be difficult. Our leadership team is committed to addressing performance concerns with transparency, support, and multiple opportunities for improvement. When resolution is not reached, we follow a structured and respectful process. We remain committed to fostering a professional and supportive work environment and appreciate feedback that helps us continue to grow.
