Pays well, but overworks and disorganized - Crew Lead LG Energy Solution Michigan Employee Review

Pros

Pay is very competitive, benefits are good, coworkers are a treat to work with.

Cons

Management is uneducated and disorganized, there is a very clear difference in how the company treats Americans versus Koreans, the only choices for work schedule is steady 12 hour shifts, or a very unpredictable 8 hour shift. We often work 20+ days in a row. Machines are not well maintained, and production/quality issues are blamed on production staff instead of poor machine maintenance. Management has cut staff significantly, but continues to add more work, and is confused when we don’t meet expectations. There is no way to access the employee handbook as it’s not on ADP and they no longer make hard copies. Overall a very disorganized and chaotic company. Only reason to maintain employment here is difficulties finding it elsewhere.

Pros

-Opportunity to work on advanced battery manufacturing Green Field start up. -Fast-paced environment with significant learning opportunities.

Cons

* Communication can be challenging in many areas due to language barriers, particularly when operational and technical discussions are not consistently communicated to all team members. * Engineering resources are frequently utilized for non-engineering activities, reducing the time available for troubleshooting, process improvement, root-cause analysis, and technical problem solving. * Workplace professionalism and communication standards are not always applied consistently across teams and organizations. * Cross-functional collaboration and information sharing require significant improvement to ensure all engineers have equal access to technical discussions, operational decisions, and critical information needed to perform their roles effectively.
