Pros
The previous work environment was highly toxic particularly within Singapore sales team which was characterized by immaturity, entitlement, and a lack of work ethics. Employees often showed up at their convenience, took frequent "meetings" with no clear outcomes, and did little to no sales activity—no one was picking up the phone. Conversations in the office revolved more around lunch plans than meaningful work discussions. Despite claims of being a close-knit team, the office was rife with gossip and backstabbing. Everyone held titles like Director or Manager despite lacking significant achievements or impact. There was no clear structure, no growth plan, and no standards in place making it a frustrating environment for those who were trying to make a difference.
However, things took a complete turnaround when a new Managing Director was brought on board. Under new leadership, the office underwent a dramatic shift in culture. The sales team was restructured and now consists of experienced recruiters who understand the fundamentals of the recruitment industry—connecting with people and driving results. This shift has created a positive and collaborative environment, Fostering a sense of accountability, professionalism, and growth. The office culture is now one that supports meaningful work and encourages continuous improvement.
