I grew as an employee and have skills I never thought I would have - Deputy Editor Ladders Employee Review

Pros

During my time at Ladders I really grew as an employee. I was challenged to think not just as a content creator and editor but as an analyst who used numbers to support strategies. I gained skills there I am not sure I would get in any normal editorial job. The people are great and always willing to help out. The HR team and Marc Cenedella, the CEO, really support people and want them to succeed.

Cons

Completely remote for now (but there is a wework option)

Pros

This review is from 2011. Opportunity cost, you work in New York. Anything can happen there at any time. Well stocked and good variety of snacks. Oatmeal provided for breakfast. The company gave things sometimes like blankets and T-shirts.

Cons

Company culture is unconventional. The end of the workweek is Thursday, because the jobs posted that day go live Friday. So everyone celebrates the end of the week on Thursday instead. If you have a long commute you will be forced to make a choice between sleep and connecting with coworkers and colleagues after the day. Permatemps are also treated as second-class citizens, due to a Supreme Court decision. They don't get to participate in company morale events, such as barbecues, picnics,. One time the company hired masseuses to give employees massages. Permatemps did not get to receive a massage. Management will take credit for your work, so document every exchange. Management would rather terminate employees in the case of an HR incident rather than address the problem.
