Pros

Great culture with very friendly employees. The break rooms are very comfortable and accommodating. Managers and Supervisors are good friends with each other and hang out after company hours. When Lam needs employees they will have Superior Group hire anyone off the streets with no job experience necessary. Full-time Lam employees get great benefits such as profit sharing and chances to have paid visits to other countries for work.

Cons

The back end night shift crew complain about their families not seeing them enough, but signed up for that position. Lam always has a 60/40 employee policy with the majority being full-time hired on and the minority being full-time Superior Group temporary contractors. The temps are the first to get kicked out the door unless you happen to be a minority. The employee training has a very high turn over rate with a very strict no sleeping policy.

Pros

Opportunities to support global activities

Cons

Heavy micromanagement — frequent revisions on ppt to minor details like font size and colors. Frequently calling staffs even after work hours and lunch time. Manager often takes on additional work from other teams without considering current team workload, So the manager appears supportive and “nice” externally but creates additional burden to the subordinates. Manager controls team budget strictly for team-building activities (events and meals), team members feel restrictive and reluctant to participate, for example team members dare not order appetizers, dessert or drinks on top of entrees during team events. Manager used up most of the travel budget. Biz trip and personal travel boundaries are unclear, especially when manager frequently has business trips overlaps with personal travel. Seems like manager using biz trip to get free hotel and free air tickets for PTO.
