Awful place to work - Product Owner Landmark Information Employee Review

Pros

None.. There was free fruit and stuff but all that has gone since most of the staff decided to WFH full time. Office was a soulless place.

Cons

Company had complete disregard for the health and welfare of their staff, It is a disgrace how staff were and are still treated by what I am told. There were people on the cusp of going on stress leave. They have lost so many people and all the best people. What was left behind was a very stressed existing workforce complimented by very inexperienced and often useless new people. I can only blame Landmark for this...there was nobody left to train new people and very soon the company will no doubt lose all expertise. Everyone who had been there for a few years sounded so fed up with the place. Senior management had absolutely no concern for staff. In words of one of my colleagues: This place is so close to imploding. All the skills and knowledge was being lost and Landmark didn't care. They still wanted the work done whatever it took. Don't believe some of the reviews here. There is nothing good about the company and hadn't been for many years. The rot set in several CEO's ago. It would be just about bearable if the pay was OK but Landmark are one of the lowest payers for technical roles in the south west. Staff kept moving or changing roles so often that nobody had any clue what was happening,

Thank you for your comments, which we take on board. I’d like to briefly respond to some of the issues you’ve raised. Certainly, Landmark is experiencing a time of great transformation - there is work underway to update and harmonise our technology applications and systems with the aim of bringing everyone – customers and employees alike – up to speed, with the best possible tools. Inevitably, this change brings with it some level of disruption however it is an exciting time for the industry, with things like AI, Machine Learning and a shift to highly integrated cloud services changing the game for any business dealing with data at the scale we do in the UK PropTech market. Our approach is pragmatic - we aim to adopt the best technologies to solve business problems in an effective and sustainable way that will bring the best possible benefits and results. We do regular industry benchmarking to check that we are offering competitive packages to our employees, however we always seek to recognise good people, which is something we are consistently working to ensure - particularly in what is currently a very competitive market. We have been working hard to improve staff wellbeing, making sure our staff have the time, space and support to pursue a good work/life balance. Our staff engagement survey complemented the company on how we handled the pandemic and following a comprehensive review and plan for home and hybrid working over the past few years, it is encouraging to see how people are adapting and thriving in the new flexible environment. Pros

Great people to work with. Nice atmosphere. Seems to be some effort to modernise areas of the business.

Cons

There were lots of people leaving as I joined, who had been there for a long time. This seemed to put a strain on the company and created a lot of uncertainty. The company itself was still going through changes when I left, so it'll be interesting to see where it ends up.
