Pros

I have been with LaserAway for about a year and a half and it has been one of the most rewarding career moves I have made. The work life balance is great, the environment is fun, and the company truly offers opportunities for growth if you are willing to put in the effort. I started as a clinician, was promoted to lead clinician, and now work as a clinical trainer for my region. Promotions are absolutely attainable and based on performance, initiative, and passion for aesthetics. Training is fast paced and very structured. The company has extremely detailed SOPs, which I appreciated because it creates consistency and patient safety. While the formal training period is short, there are endless resources available, and I felt encouraged to take ownership of my learning by reviewing SOPs and asking questions. If you are motivated and proactive, you will succeed here. The job itself is enjoyable and hands on. You get to work with innovative technology and stay current with new aesthetic treatments. The coworkers and leadership make a huge difference. I have worked with some truly amazing teammates and feel supported by management when concerns come up. The pay is competitive and higher than what I made in the hospital setting, which was a huge plus. Overall, I genuinely love my job. I have grown professionally and personally within this company and feel valued for the work I do. LaserAway continues to expand and stay on the cutting edge of aesthetics, which makes it exciting to be part of the team. If you are passionate about aesthetics, willing to learn, and open to a fast paced environment, this is an amazing place to build a long term career.

Cons

Because the training is fast paced, this role may feel overwhelming for someone who is not a quick learner or not comfortable taking initiative early on. New clinicians may need to spend additional time reviewing SOPs independently to feel confident. The schedule can get busy. Clinics sometimes overbook to account for no shows, which can be challenging at first. There are also last minute walk-ins and schedule changes that can cause delays throughout the day. This can be frustrating, especially when you are new, but the sales team is usually very helpful with adjusting schedules and supporting the flow of the day. Sales is part of the culture. Clinicians do not discuss pricing with patients, but we are expected to educate, recommend treatments, and support the sales process. If you are not comfortable working closely with sales teams, this may not be the right fit.

Cons

oh my god lol. this is a horrible place to work as a nurse. i worked for LA for 2 years and I have never been happier to not work there. My life got better when i left, that’s when you know it’s bad. the double and triple bookings just keeps getting worse, it’s an impossible schedule to keep up with. at the end of my time there, some patients were waiting over an hour before rescheduling their appointment because of how behind the nurses get. it’s a very unsafe work environment. Management is terrible and micromanage. A PCC told me once that they watch us on the cameras and get mad if a nurse is sitting down for too long (like 10 mins)…. like what? but to anyone that currently works there, there are far better places to work. the company that i work for now is AMAZIMG and pays better with no double bookings and actually respects their nurses and the opinion of the nurses lol. double and triple bookings are not “an industry standard” like management likes to say. LA has a very very bad reputation in the aesthetics space, and for good reason. all they care about is money and will do anything, literally anything to increase revenue. it’s disgusting.
