Pros
Lovely, small team of friendly people. Everyone is welcoming and willing to help each other, particularly during busy periods. LR management are flexible regarding shift patterns and allowed me to extend or reduce the number of hours worked per week, in order to accomodate my university schedule.
There are options to train in multiple areas of the production process, enabling variety during shifts. Furthermore, if employees are performing well doing a single role and are comfortable to remain at the post, management enables this also.
Breaks are spread throughout the shift, increasing with number of hours worked per shift. In the staff kitchens, there was always provisions available (milk, tea, coffee etc).
Management were always approachable and accommodating to me where possible and there was a general sense of care for employees. For example, during birthdays, everyone takes a break and celebrates with cake. Moreover, there is a bonus (monthly) given to a selected member of staff in recognition for their work contribution.
I would absolutely recommend LR as a great place to work and wish the team the best of luck!
Cons
Due to the number of heat producing machinery (shirt/trouser presses, forming machines, dryers etc) the establishment unavoidably becomes a very hot environment during the summer months, however, there are fans located throughout the property which help to keep cool air flowing. Additionally, management provide provisions like ice cream during this time and encourages extra breaks.
